Hey, people!
Well, before we start our LOVELY chat about technology, why don’t we see what crazy things we did yesterday? I’ll start. For most of you who know me, I go through my books pretty fast. SO, last night, I was out of books and asked Korabu to drive me to the Library. Well, since I go to East library a lot, they all know me as the girl who brings a big bag and gets tons of books. So, when we went to Central Library, nobody there knew me. So, I tried to keep a straight face at the checkout line:
Me: Hi (hands library card to employee)
Employee: Hello, (Hands it back after scanning)
Me: (Looks away, trying not to laugh)
Employee: -click-, -click-, click- click- click-
Me: (Nervous laugh)
Employee: (More urgently scanning) -CLICK, Click Click CLICK CLICK CLICK
Employee: (Very frustrated look on his face, looks back when his coworkers are trying not to giggle)
Me: Thank you sir!
And that was how it went. I returned home red faced from trying not to laugh, and Korabu has given me the name, “Bag lady”. This implies something else, but in the library, I am proud to carry it.
Anyway, to our discussion of technology. It seems like everyone I know seems to have one form or another of Apple’s IPhone, I Touch, or Ipod. I’m not a stranger to this stuff, Lily and I both have Ipods, but sometimes it moves too fast for me. For those of you who subscribe, I know you guys use your phones to read this. Well, if you are, pat yourself on the back. You have technology, and are keeping up with it. I, on the other hand, STILL have no cell phone (Hem hem, MOM) and I still think that I wouldn’t be stuck behind my cellphone all day if I did have one. But, I’m not here to argue about my dream phone. Let’s move on.
In English class, we read The House on Mango Street, which I’m sure would have been a lovely chapter book (Seriously, it was 65 pages long) but the way our class had to string out each chapter and analyze what was clearly in front of them was very annoying. I’m sure I could’ve finished the book in a half and our, but rather, our class took two weeks. Now that we’re done, I feel a little better.
Mom brought home a new computer monitor, and as I’m typing here, my eyes still can’t get used to it. Kinda scary, considering our old monitor was nothing near the size this one is.
That warm day on Sunday was nice. I miss it. Now we have temperatures in the 50′s, and while I love WARMER temperatures, I still love WARM temperatures better. Anyway, I have to go put a jacket on, because my arms are cold,
